Kongres Polonii Kanadyjskiej   Okręg Manitoba Winnipeg, Manitoba – 19 października 2010 r. Kongres Polonii Kanadyjskiej Okręg Manitoba zaprasza na uroczystość obchodów 92-ej rocznicy Narodowego Święta Niepodległości. Coroczne obchody Narodowego Święta Niepodległości z inicjatywy Kongresu Polonii Kanadyjskiej, Okręg Manitoba, odbędą się w niedzielę, 14 listopada 2010 r. w Winnipegu. Program uroczystości: Ø 11.00 - msza święta w kościele św. Andrzeja Boboli przy 541 Marion Street z udziałem pocztów sztandarowych. Ø 14.00 – uroczystość w siedzibie Polskiego Towarzystwa Bratniej Wzajemnej Pomocy ś. Jana Kantego przy 770 Mountain Avenue (skrzyżowanie ulic Mountain i Arlington). Referat okolicznościowy wygłosi Adam von Lau, a także udział wezmą uczniowie Sobotniej Szkoły Języka Polskiego oraz studenci Uniwersytetu Manitoba. The annual Independence Day celebration, presented by the Canadian Polish Congress, Manitoba Branch, will take place on Sunday, November 14, 2010, in Winnipeg. Commemoration programme: Ø 11:00 a.m. - Mass at St. Andrew Bobola Parish, 541 Marion Street, with Colour Parties in attendance. Polskie Towarzystwo Muzealne Ogniwo Zaprasza na wyklad profesor Miroslawy Hanusiewicz-Lavallee           Obrazy Ameryki w Dawnej Literaturze Polskiej Poczatkowa na wpol mityczna wiedza Polakow o Ameryce byla na przestrzeni dziejow konfrontowana z obrazami literackimi stworzonymi przez pisarzy podroznikow oraz emigantow.  Professor Hanusiewicz-Lavallee zaprezentuje historyczna zmiennosc obrazu Ameryki oraz fundamenty ksztaltowania sie mitu Ameryki jako ojczyzny wolnosci. Profesor  Miroslawa Hanusiewicz-Lavallee jest wykladowca Literatury Staropolskiej na Katolickim Uniwersytecie Lubelskim. Po wykladzie w jezyku angielskim dyskusja przy kawie   Wiecej informacji tel. 586-5070 lub e-mail info@polishmuseum.com.    As part of the Ogniwo Museum’s 25th Anniversary Celebrations, Dr. Miroslawa Hanusiewicz-Lavallee will present on the formation and evolution of images of America and the New World in Polish literature.  From early mythical ideas that sprang from the first news of a new continent to early 18th century writers presenting the first literary images of this far away land, America has held an important place in the Polish consciousness.  The image of an American utopia would be further shaped by writers who actually visited the new world and through immigrants landing on these distant shores.  These views will be explored in the context of different periods of Polish history and why they would go undisputed in the face of a very different reality.   Dr. Miroslawa Hanusiewicz-Lavallee earned her PhD at the Catholic University of Lublin.  She has taught in Poland, Italy, and Canada.  She is the author of an extensive number of publications and books, and has received numerous awards and recognition of her work, including a state title of professor in humanities, conferred by the President of the Republic of Poland.   This presentation will take place at the Ogniwo Museum on:  Friday, November 5 at 7:00 PM  There will be a silver collection at the door.  For further information, please call 586-5070 or e-mail info@polishmuseum.com.
